Overview
CEAT Discovery Day brings K–12 students to campus for a hands-on look at how the iHuman Lab builds technology that understands people — not just their commands, but their attention, stress, and mistakes before they happen. Students get an introduction to brain-computer interfaces, human-robot interaction, and eye-gaze AI, drawn from the lab’s ongoing research in search-and-rescue robotics, aviation safety, manufacturing, and healthcare.
What Students Will See
- Brain-computer interfaces — how brain signals can be read in real time to detect stress and workload
- Human-robot teaming — robots that adapt to the person operating them, including teleoperation over high-latency links
- Eye-gaze AI — training models to see the way expert operators do, from surgeons to drone pilots
- Pathways into research — how to get involved in human-centered AI and robotics research as a student
